I have been slacking recently, the blog is looking barren, this is all because I’ve been very busy photographing weddings in March and April. I’ll be sharing these on the blog shortly but if you can’t wait then I have posted a few pix on my Facebook photography page.

My mood totally changed when I opened the curtains this morning to see sunshine. What a difference to the grey dreary rain that we have been having over the last few days. Not only was the sun shining but the rapeseed fields were in full bloom and I do love a yellow field. Becky and Rob arrived in their gorgeous classic Mercedes, so we just had to incorporate this into their engagement shoot too.  Becky and Rob marry in July at Clandon Park with the fabulous Kate Avery working her floral magic, it promises to be a gorgeous day. All that’s left is for me to spread a bit of yellow goodness your way.

Amy & Steve, Brympton D’Evercy House Wedding.

So, where to start with this wedding?.....It was the first wedding of the season for me and I was really looking forward to Amy and Steve’s day. An Ian Stewart dress was featuring, who wouldn’t be excited?

Emma and I traveled to Brympton D’Evercy House on the Friday to check out the venue and then later met with Amy and the wedding party at a lovely hotel in Yeovil, called The Lanes. All was going to plan.

On Saturday morning, we arrived at the Bridal suite to find Amy looking a little peaky. Amy seemed confident that she would be fine and that all she needed was a little shut eye. We left the girls alone for a bit and went off to photograph some of the house detail before returning to start on photographing the bridal prep. On our return things were not looking much better, in fact Amy was feeling worse and had been physically sick. Everyone was trying to remain calm but the clock was ticking and the morning was slipping away. Amy was unable to even start getting ready as she felt so dreadful. I decided that we needed to take action and fast! I knew that there was an anti sickness injection that could be given so set about calling local GP’s and NHS direct. Nothing seemed to be happening fast enough and no-one was calling us back so I suggested calling Yeovil A&E and seeing if we could get Amy seen at the hospital. Luckily the hospital were amazing and told us to bring Amy straight down.

So I found myself in my car driving to a hospital with a very poorly bride lying on my backseat. Meanwhile back at Brympton guests were arriving, Steve was being informed, registrars were moving the ceremony time and trying to keep everyone calm.

I am pleased to say that there is a happy ending to this wedding day and Amy did make it down the aisle. Amazingly Amy looked incredible after the most awful start to what should have been a really exciting morning.

Amy and Steve were able to enjoy the rest of their wedding day and celebrate with all their friends and family before setting off on the most gorgeous honeymoon. I’m thrilled to be able to share a selection of images from their day.

Lastly, a huge thank you to Emma, my second shooter who held it all together whilst I was at the hospital with Amy. She captured some fab images of Steve and the groomsmen in my absence.

Amy and Steve, thanks for having us as your photographers, it was an unforgettable day!

Claire and Ian chose the very beautiful Hyde Park for their engagement shoot. The weather was freezing with a very bitter wind but we managed to dodge the showers long enough to grab some shots in the tree blossom. I was so pleased I finally had a chance to photograph Claire and Ian as their last planned shoot was rained off and with their wedding only two weeks away, it was getting too close to re-schedule again.
We seemed to be creating some intrigue with our shoot, lots of tourists kept watching us and then stealing our locations, I think they may have thought that Claire and Ian were celebrities wink Whilst I was photographing Ian and Claire, unbeknown to me, hubs entered our Dachshund into Hyde Bark (a dog show) and she won first prize for shiniest coat. I was such a proud doggy mum, she even got a rosette!
Claire and Ian marry at Wasing Park at the end of this month, lets hope the weather is kind to them and we get some of that sunny warm weather we experienced in March.
Thanks to Claire and Ian for being such good models and braving the freezing weather.

Delphine & Matt’s VW Camper Van engagement session

I was greeted by a beep beep as the gleaming blue VW Camper van pulled into West Wittering beach. There were lots of waves and stares as the camper was admired by many. The weather was perfect and it was a special day for Delphine and Matt. Not only was it their engagement shoot but also their 9 year anniversary. We had all been tentatively watching the weather forecast for the week hoping that the sun would stay until the weekend & luckily it did.

Dougal the 1960’s VW camper moved here from California in 2007 and was beautifully restored to his former glory by Vanilla Splits, which is where Delphine and Matt hired him from. I love his write up on Vanilla Splits website “He’s a loveable rogue with his enviable walk through style. The life and soul of the campsite. Bit of a dark horse though - with his lovely matching cushions and curtains, he could easily grace the pages of an Interior Design magazine” He has most definitely won me over! I want one.

We had an amazing shoot today and I am so looking forward to photographing Delphine and Matt’s wedding in the Loire Valley, France in August.

In complete contrast to last weekends weather, this one was wet! It was a real spring day with sun and blustery showers but thankfully we managed to out fox it and grab a few shots of Clare and Rob before the rain came down. Poor rob was dragged out for his engagement shoot this afternoon following his pre-stag do last night. His real stag is next weekend. Clare and Rob marry at Northbrook Park in April among the peacocks.
